  • Is there an age requirement to participate?

    Individuals must be 13 and older to participate

  • How much does it cost to participate?

    3 Hour Outing: $45

    4 Hour Outing: $60

    5 Hour Outing: $75

    6 Hour Outing: $90

    **There are no additional charges for tickets, entry fees, or experience related fees.

  • Are there any requirements for participants?

  • How is Sidekicks staffed?

    Sidekicks staff are well-trained and passionate individuals who work in the field of special education, or are currently enrolled in a college program for education/special education related. All staff are background checked. They promote inclusion and try to give our participants the best summer ever!

    2025: Our staff is currently made up of local teachers, classroom assistants, and current individuals going to school preparing for their special education teaching careers.

  • How do individuals get to outings?

    We have two different type of outings:

    1. Local (15 or less minutes from Grand Haven) . These outing parents drop off and pick up at the outing location. Some outings include Sidekick Socials, Craig’s Cruisers, Local Parks, Grand Haven Beach Days, Sidekicks Bash, and more.

    2. Travel Outings: On Outings that are further away (Michigan’s Adventure, Lewis Farms, Whitecaps etc) Sidekicks provides limited spots for Transportation. Parents drop off at the Grand Haven Meijer (Letter H) and Pick up from the Grand Haven Meijer (Letter H). Families also have the ability to drop off and pick up from the outing location.

  • Does Sidekicks provide scholarships?

    Currently Sidekicks does not provide scholarships, Sidekicks is seeking sponsors for all outings to lower cost for all families.

  • When are the outings?

    Summer outings will take place Monday through Friday for 10 weeks, starting June 16th, 2025. Our summer calendar will be available under the Summer Calendar tab and released in March 2025

  • What does my Individual need to bring to outings?

    Each outing will specify the necessary items to bring based on its unique requirements. Some outings may suggest packing a sack lunch, while others may recommend essentials like a water bottle and sturdy walking shoes. Sidekicks ensures clear communication by outlining exactly what items will help make each outing successful for every individual.

  • How do outing sign-ups work?

    Sign-ups for our outings will begin on April 19th, 2025, exclusively through our website. Due to high demand, spots often fill up quickly. We highly encourage families to sign up for the waitlist as well, which helps us gauge interest and potentially add more outings to accommodate everyone.

  • What happens if I cant make it to an outing I signed up for?

    We understand that unexpected circumstances such as sickness or emergencies can arise. However, to ensure smooth operations and maintain the quality of our services, including scheduling and staffing, we have an outing cancellation policy.

    Cancellation Policy: Outings canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled time will be subject to invoicing. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. We will do our best to work with you in such situations.

  • How many individuals go on an outing at a time?

    It varies depending on the outing! Each outing will specify the maximum number of individuals we can accommodate. The number of Sidekicks accompanying participants is tailored to the outing's requirements; some may involve larger groups while others necessitate smaller ones due to location constraints. However, our commitment to maintaining a 4:1 ratio of Sidekicks to participants remains consistent across all outings

    A night of dance, games, crafts, and food! A celebration of all things SIDEKICKS! You DO NOT want to miss this event!
